Instagram Week 3

Here's a summary of my week through Instagram photos: Ootd; St Andrews' Banksy; Cathedral & poppies; Out with my favourite American; Little brothers turned 16; View from home

Been a super busy week flat hunting (so stressful) and starting work for uni again. Thankfully my earliest lecture once again is at 12 and I no longer finish at 6 woop! Currently attempting to find dresses for some upcoming balls, got two in two weeks! Alsooooo it's my 18th birthday on the 18th so that's pretty exciting. Should have some posts on outfits in St Andrews soon, maybe once I've found a flat I'll take photos outside it.
In the mean time have a look at St Andrews University newspaper 'The Saint' 's style page and see what you think - massive fashion show coming up this weekend ah.

Hope you're all having a good week!

Patterned Trousers and Yellow Jumper

Headband Peacocks, Jumper Peacocks, Trousers Peacocks, Boots Newlook, Lipstick - Ruby Tuesday Max Factor, Nailvarnish - Opulent Pink L'oreal Paris, Necklace Present

As promised here is a post about the outfit I was wearing in one of my Instagram photos in an earlier post. I happened to wander into Peacocks when I was killing some time waiting for a train and they had a 70% off sale on, aaaah. So, I picked up these two beauties who, although have bold and contrasting colour schemes, go rather well together.
This jumper is the stuff of dreams. It's ridiculously cosy which is perfect for this snowy weather we're having. There are so many jumpers I have that look warm but actually don't make a difference whereas this one does, perhaps why I love it so much as I no longer have rows of goosebumps on my arms. I absolutely love this mustard orange colour, it's a definite move away from the hoards of blue jumpers stocked up in my cupboard.
These trousers are amazing. I have a growing love for bright patterned trousers and have finally managed to bag myself a blue pair. They're so comfy and light and add a splash of colour to an outfit, they make a plain black tshirt look instantly stylish. Trousers like this are fantastic as they feel like pjs but are acceptable to wear out and about!

I teamed this bright outfit with plain black boots from New Look which you unfortunately can't really see thanks to the snow. This outfit is so loud that I felt the shoes needed to be more toned down. These boots are really comfy and go with everything, however, one complaint is that they don't really seem to be able to deal with regular use. Mine split after about two months.
As you can see, it's freezing outside which is why I wore my cosy headband I got from my brother for Christmas. It keeps your ears super warm and the layered brown fluff makes it compatible with anything.
The necklace I wore is my mum's and an absolute favourite of mine. I really think it is perfect for this outfit. It incorporates the yellow of the jumper, blue of the trousers and the red of my lipstick and nailvarnish.
Matching my nailvarnish and lipstick is something I'm becoming more fond of. Lipstick is definitely growing on me and I'm hoping to buy some burgundy lipstick soon. I love this red, it's so bright and vibrant and just super classy. It completely transforms my face.

Hope you're all well and having a good week.

Instagram Week 2

Happy Monday everyone! Here's my weekly instagram round up, it's been really busy and exciting. Once again the sales got the better of me once again and resulted in me buying yet another playsuit and pair of shoes, they're so pretty though. Also booked flights to see my gorgeous uni friend in Madrid in Easter aaaaah! It's ridiculously close already. The biggest thing has been moving back up to St Andrews for uni. It was pretty hard saying bye to the fam and my dog but it is good to be back. Starting lectures again today ugh (although they are actually interesting) and it's not long until my birthday when I will no longer be branded with Xs on my hands by the union security for being underage.

Hope you all have a great week!

2O15

Apologies for this being rather late. I've seen a lot of reflective 2014 posts and not that there's anything wrong with that but I'm going to do something a little difference and write a post about my plans for 2015 instead! Throughout this post I'm going to put some photos of my highlights of 2014, cute right?

Skiing with my brothers (January)
Organising Charity Weeks in school as part of my Vice Captain role - I'm meant to be the Grinch here (March)
Attended my first ever wedding! (April)

Sooooo, 2015 is a HUGE year for me. I turn 18 in February; I will complete my first year at university; I will hopefully be living in a flat by the end of it with my lovely university friends; I'm off to Japan for three weeks as well as lots of other travelling like visiting friends in Madrid and Milan; my little brothers and cousin turn 16 woaaaah and I'll hopefully be going on holiday with my boyfriend for the first time!

I left school - me & my best friend & our leavers hoodies (May)
Last day of school - my year group (May)

I really want this year to be the year that I travel the world. I can't wait to explore the beautiful countries and cities of the world such as Tokyo, Madrid and Milan as mentioned. I'm hoping to return to Belgium (my country of birth) and do a sort of road trip which would be amazing and also tour the UK visiting friends.

London with my best friend Shaakirah (May)
Buckingham Palace (May)
2015 is the year that I want to make the most of my new found independence. I love my family but it's extremely strange coming home and being told what to do after living 4 months away. I want to become more involved in sectors of uni life such as writing for the university newspaper and become an active member of the badminton club. I just want to experience everything to the full, nothing wrong with that right?

Prom! One of the best nights of my life. With Shaakirah (June)
Prom with my fellow captains (June)

As I said, I turn 18. This is so exciting, I can't wait for all the opportunities this tiny new number will allow. Being 17 hit a new low when I couldn't see Gone Girl in the cinema because of my age.

The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony with my boyfriend, Richard (July)
I cut my hair short into a long bob for the first time ever (August)

I started university at the University of St Andrews! (September)

Of course, there are also the usual new year's resolutions:
Stop biting nails
Finally get round to completely Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award
Stop worrying about what other people think of myself
Wholeness: part of this is sadness, disappointment, frustration, failure: all of those things which make us who we are. Ask yourself, 'Is this contributing to my wholeness?' and if you're having a bad day then it is.

The States - Vegas (July)
The States - Death Valley
The States - Monument Valley
The States - Hollywood - Fun fact: My boyfriend is related to Bryan Adams ooh aah (July)
The States - U.S.S Midway, San Diego (July)
The States - Times Square, New York (July)
The States - New York (July)

Happy 2015 everyone!

Please leave comments about your plans for 2015, I'd love to hear them.

Floral

Kimono Newlook ,Vest top ASDA, Jeggings Newlook, Boots Peacocks

Sales shopping is amazing. I'm really not big on brands and spending an absolute fortune on something when I can something just as good from a charity shop or in the sales for the fraction of the price.
One of my favourite bargins this year is this rose patterned kimono. Floral print is huge at the moment and I absolutely love this item because it's so bold and bright, so much so that it makes an outfit itself. You need nothing else! This is why I've teamed it with a plain black vest top and jeggings as well as a simple messy pony tail and slick liquid eyeliner.
What's also great about this kimono is it is actually pretty thick. As you can see there's lots of snow where I live at the moment so it's not a time to be wearing a thin skimpy summer kimono which is why this purchase is also so great.

Necklaces Presents, Boots Peacocks

Continuing the simple look I wore heeled black boots with tassels which I think add a lovely little detail to the outfit. It's the little details like this which makes outfits. I'm a huge fan of layering up necklaces especially subtle ones like these.

Hope you're all having a good week, I'm enjoying the last days of my holiday before I return to university!

A week in Instagram photos

Hello again! I've left this blog for far too long and I'm very sorry. Semester one of university was amazing but hectic. Anyway, I've been inspired by one of my favourite blogs, thevelvetblack, to start doing posts which display my week through my instagram photos! I think short posts are definitely the way go especially when I'm tight on time.

From top to bottom: A cheeky selfie before I spent the day in Glasgow; a happy mirror shot with my gorgeous boyfriend; the view from my house of the snow; The Theory of Everything cinema ticket; new sales purchases.

I will be doing a post on the last photo very soon to show you all the amazing things I've managed to pick up in the sales which include this cute jumper and patterned trousers. This my last week of my Christmas holidays before I return to St Andrews on friday, wah, though I am really excited to go back and see everyone. I hope you all have a great week and enjoy the snow if you have any!
